Mike Carr aka, China Mike, is an illustrator and painter based in Bristol, England. Mike discontinued a degree in graphic design some time in 1998 to pursue a burgeoning interest in Illustration – a disipline which suited much more, his natural abilities as a draftsman and his thirst for less constrained and more fluid expression. Over the last few years he has turned his attentions to the medium of paint in an effort to free himself from the limitations of more digital based media. This new direction has seen him exhibit his work in galleries in Glasgow, New york, Los angeles, London, Guernsey and in various cities up and down the country. He has exhibited his work several times within Bristol, including a contribution of pieces to the Crimes of passion show at the Royal west of England academy. His work is also represented in the private collections of numerous art buyers around the world.
