A rare and beautiful Ole Wanscher solid brazilian rocking chair & newly upholstered in high quality black leather from the early 1950s, with a curved organic profile and square rocking base.

Ole Wanscher was a student and follower of Kaare Klint, he turned to the classic forms and reinvented them for modern times and means. Throughout his career wanscher designed a number of elegant pieces in traditional materials that adopted modernism’s interest in mass production. Finn Juhl, Arne Vodder and Wanscher all designed items for France and Daverkosen (France and Son) which made the manufacturer one of the best of its time and have made its furniture highly collectable.

It really is a must for any collector of danish or contemporary furniture, the chair has been recently reupholstered in leather.
