When PH-4/3 hanging lamp was launched to the public in 1960 it was introduced as classic news. This has turned out to be true. Contrary to Poul Henningsen`s previous lamps, which experimented with different kinds of glow lamps, PH 4/3 is solely created with one standardized glow lamp. Founded on PHs ideals of anti-dazzling light, PH4/3 is constructed to tame the sharp light. The lamp has been designed not to dazzle no matter its position. Small red screens have been placed to weaken the light to that part of the colour spectrum where the eye is the least sensitive. The light in the strong yellow-green spectrum is hereby weakened which causes a harmonic experience of the light as well as a better sense of the colours.
