rosewood extending dining table

Severin Hansen

Haslev Møbelfabrik

A great rosewood dining table. Designed by Severin Hansen for Haslev in the early 1960s.

The table has some great detail with the trade mark legs meeting the table top fitting seamlessly together. This allows a fluid edge to run the whole length and surround of the table. Nice details which are small but at the same time great! The table extends with two extra extensions and there is a leg under the centre to give added support. This gives 8 comfortable seating spaces with no worry of wobble while dinning. Both extensions have matched rosewood and colour which is great as sometimes an extra extension can be a lower grade wood or have no edge, this keeps both and is another indication to quality.

The table has been re-polised and restored and looks amazing in colour and condition however there are a couple of very small and extremely light areas of raised veneer which look slightly darker. They are hardly noticeable and do not detract. The price reflects this and if they were not visible the price would be a lot higher.

An excellant large rosewood dining table

71cm high
116cm diameter
extending to 166.5cm and 216.5cm
